COVID-19 Rehearsal Protocols
Rehearsal Protocol
Revised 2022-Sept-21
Now that recommended Covid protocols are loosening, the WSCB board considered whether to change the band's requirements. Here's the current policy, as of 21 Sept 2022:
• Gurrie School now considers masks optional, and no longer requires distancing. They have offered us the use of the band room for our rehearsals, and we have opted for that.
• The band will continue to require vaccination (2 doses if Moderna, Pfizer, or Novavax; 1 if J&J), and proof thereof, for all wind instrument players. Boosters are not required, but are highly recommended, especially the latest updated versions.
• Masks are optional, but welcomed, for vaccinated players, whether they are seated or walking around.
• For players who can play while wearing a mask, such as percussionists, vaccination is no longer required as long as a mask is worn that covers nose & mouth at all times within the building.
• If you are feeling sick and possibly contagious, please stay home.
• If you test positive for Covid, the day of that test is Day Zero. Please stay home through at least Day 5. If you develop symptoms within 10 days of a test that was positive, Day Zero resets to the day that symptoms developed; stay home through at least Day 5 and until you have been fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving. After that, the CDC recommends that you continue wearing a mask through Day 10 or until you have two sequential negative antigen tests at least 48 hours apart.
• This is subject to change as conditions change.
Anyone with Covid-like symptoms is not allowed to enter the building.
All members must be vaccinated in order to attend rehearsal. Proof of vaccination must be presented and recorded during your first rehearsal attendance.
